Illegal Firearm Seized by Thanarpara police, One Arrested

Arnab Majumder, Not Only News Correspondent, Krishnagar: Thanarpara Police under Krishnagar police district in Nadia recovered a country-made firearm on 11th October, 2024. A raid was conducted by a team from Thanarpara Police Station, under the supervision of SDPO Tehatta, at Sahebpara Moynatala Para in Nadia district.

Based on reliable source information, the police team searched the house of Jalal Molla, son of the late Panchu Molla. During the operation, a country-made firearm was recovered and seized from the premises.

Police said, Jalal Molla has been arrested in connection with the illegal possession of the weapon.

Following the arrest, Thanarpara Police registered Case No. 271/24, dated 11.10.24, under Section 25(1B)(a) of the Arms Act.

Further investigation is ongoing to determine the origins and potential use of the firearm.

The raid and subsequent arrest highlight the ongoing efforts by local police to crack down on illegal arms in the area.
