Not Only News Service: Google AdSense has notified account administrators and legal managers of upcoming changes to privacy laws in five U.S. states, including Iowa, Delaware, New Jersey, Nebraska, and New Hampshire. These states will implement various data protection laws starting in January 2025, such as the Iowa Consumer Data Protection Act and the New Jersey Comprehensive Data Privacy Act, among others.

In response, Google will update its existing Data Processing and Controller-Controller Data Protection terms to comply with these new regulations. Publishers using Google AdSense do not need to take additional steps if they have already agreed to the online data protection terms.

Additionally, Google has informed that the Restricted Data Processing (RDP) setting, already in use, will apply to these states beginning November 15, 2024. Publishers with traffic from these states may experience an increase in RDP traffic.

For further assistance and information, Google has directed publishers to its Help Center and business safety resources.

This update comes as part of Google’s ongoing efforts to comply with expanding privacy regulations in the U.S., offering tools to help publishers manage their ad products in line with state-specific legal requirements.
