Not Only News Service: A “Safe Drive, Save Life” campaign was held by the Nakashipara Highway Traffic Police in collaboration with the Dhubulia Traffic Unit and Dhubulia Police Station. The event, conducted on Wednesday morning, was designed to raise road safety awareness among students of Dhubulia Subhash Chandra Girls’ School.

The program began with a discussion session at the school, attended by prominent police officials, including Nakashipara Highway Traffic Officer Shubankar Chatterjee, Dhubulia Traffic Officer Suman Kumar Banik, and Dhubulia Police Station Officer Ramprasad Mal. The session focused on educating students about safe driving practices, such as the importance of following traffic rules and wearing helmets while riding motorcycles.

Following the session, an awareness rally was conducted, where students marched through Dhubulia market along National Highway NH-12, carrying the message of road safety. The rally concluded at the school, where each student participant was presented with a Cadbury chocolate as a gesture of encouragement.

During his address, Nakashipara Highway Traffic Officer Shubankar Chatterjee highlighted the need for students to convey these safety messages to their families. He emphasized the role of helmets in saving lives and urged women to adopt helmet use while riding scooters.

Dhubulia Traffic Officer Suman Kumar Banik stressed adhering to road safety norms, such as limiting the number of riders to two per motorcycle and ensuring the presence of essential documents like a driving license, pollution certificate, and insurance. “Our ultimate goal is to reduce accidents on NH-12,” he said.

Dhubulia Police Officer Ramprasad Mal reiterated the importance of abiding by traffic laws, warning against overspeeding and driving under the influence of alcohol. “Violators will face strict legal action,” he assured.

The campaign shed light on the risks of riding motorcycles without helmets on the high-traffic NH-12, previously known as NH-34. With such initiatives, the Krishnanagar District Traffic Police aim to safeguard lives and foster a culture of road safety.
